This completely free resource is brilliant for finding niches & trending ideas. You can use it to find particular trends within industries, popular industries and other useful information.
KWFinder is very useful when it comes to developing an idea for your new business. It is a keyword tool for google which provides valuable insights on what people are searching all over the globe. You can use this tool to find popular searches which are easy to rank for and then develop a niche affiliate site around that topic for example.
That's right, many overlook this powerful resource, but it can be great for finding new ideas. This one is slightly more passive though, just keep your eyes/ears open for potential new trends/business ideas - they're consistently on the news.
Once you've chosen on an idea/industry/topic, you need to decide how you will monetise it. Here are a few examples of methods in which you can monetise your idea:
